The first hotel of the Rosewood brand in Germany is housed in two historic buildings in the city centre.
From the end of September, travellers in Munich will have another luxurious option for overnight stays in the city centre: the new Rosewood Munich is now accepting bookings for stays from 29 September. The new hotel is located in Munich’s old town; it is the first German property in the Rosewood Hotels & Resorts collection. The hotel is operated by the Arabella Collection.
The hotel is housed in two historic buildings in Kardinal-Faulhaber-Straße: the former headquarters of the Bavarian State Bank and the Palais Neuhaus-Preysing. The historic past was translated into the modern by the Munich architectural firm Hilmer Sattler and the London interior architecture and design firm Tara Bernerd & Partners. The two buildings and the inner courtyard were restored, while facades and structural elements such as the lobby and staircase were preserved.
Spa, brasserie and bar
The hotel has 73 rooms and 59 suites, including five so-called „Houses“. In terms of catering, the „Cuvilliés“ brasserie and the „Montez“ bar are available. The Asaya Spa offers six treatment rooms as well as an indoor pool and fitness area; various treatments, spa treatments and therapies can be booked there. The spa offers are also available for external guests.
The new hotel is the 7th of this hotel chain in Europe and its 31st worldwide. The Rosewood collection includes hotels such as The Carlyle in New York, Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek in Dallas and Hôtel de Crillon in Paris. Arabella Hospitality, part of the Schörghuber Group, will open Rosewood Schloss Fuschl in Austria in spring 2024.
